Settling In Japan

Settling in Japan has been an extremely endeavoring journey as a foreigner. Normally, people who study abroad would dorm but I thought there would be numerous problems so I decided to find my own housing. However, housing in Japan is very different from America and there are a lot of things you should worry about. You can't just simply pay a landlord, you need to properly have a real estate agent find a property for you. Then depending on the property, there are several conditions and fees. For example, brokerage fee, guarantor fee, deposit, key money (A sort of gratuity fee similar to tipping), cleaning fee, key exchange, insurance and many other things to worry about. Then from there, I had to furbish my apartment, register my address, setup wifi, open a bank account, and an unbelievable amount of work. I really didn't think it be this hard but at last, everything is finally finished.

I'm simply relaxing and trying to become accustom with Japan so hopefully the following posts will be more enjoyable to read.

日本に入居することは外国人としてとても難しかったです。留学する方は普段寮に入りますが、寮をあまり気に入りませんので賃貸することにしました。しかし、家を探すのはアメリカと違って、注意すべきことがたくさんあります。日本には単に大家さんに払わなく、ちゃんと不動屋を通して物件を探してくれなきゃいけません。そして、物件によって様々な条件と料金があります。例えば、仲介手数料、保証料、礼金、敷金、クリーニング料、鍵交換料、保険料などの注意すべき料金がたくさんありました。家を探した上に、家具を揃える必要があって、住所を登録するし、ネットを設備するし、口座を開設するし、本当に信じられないほどやらなきゃいけないことがありました。このように難しいのは思わなかったが、とうとう終わりました。

現在リラクスしながら日本に慣れるようになります。次のブログはもっと楽しいといいです！
